Wattspotter controls the home devices you have connected to Google Home according to the spot electricity price and the rules you set. The service consists of the mobile app, its web version, the home screen widget and the Google Home integration. You can control, for example:
Rules include the cheapest hours or quarter hours of the day, price limits, schedules (also by sunrise and sunset), minimum run time, longest allowed break, a safeguard on expensive days, temperature levels by price, pre-heating before an expensive period, a minimum temperature and frost protection. The service also shows electricity prices and the schedule in advance, sends price notifications if you enable them, offers manual control and estimates your savings.
Our server computes a schedule for your devices from the published prices and your rules. The schedule appears in Google Home as virtual price switches and price thermostats, and Google Home automations created by the app drive your actual devices accordingly. The automations are visible and editable in the Google Home app. Control works without your phone being on. You can override the schedule at any time from the app or Google Home. Your use is also subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Google Home platform terms.
Spot prices come from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, with porssisahko.net as a fallback. The total price is computed from the electricity contract and grid fee details you enter. Prices and totals are for information and do not replace the invoices of your electricity retailer or grid company.
The service is in beta and currently free of charge. Features may change and the service may contain errors. Pricing will be announced before the service becomes paid; paid use requires your separate acceptance.
You choose the devices and rules. Set safe minimum temperatures and frost protection for heating. Do not control devices whose switching or adjustment can cause danger or damage, such as medical devices, unattended freezers or devices the manufacturer does not allow to be controlled remotely. Follow the instructions and regulations for your devices and electrical installations. Make sure your Google Home automations do what you intend.
Control depends on Google, device manufacturers, your internet connection and electricity market data services; their outages can prevent or delay control. If prices are not available, price-based rules do not switch a device on, but schedules, the safeguard and the longest break still work; we notify you if tomorrow's prices have not arrived. Savings figures are estimates based on the stated power of your devices and prices, not measurements. The service is provided as is; Hehku Company Oy is liable for damages as required by mandatory law (including consumer protection and product liability) and does not limit liability contrary to law.
You may stop at any time by deleting your account in the app; your price switches are then removed from Google Home. We may close accounts used contrary to these terms or in a way that endangers the service or other users. Paid subscriptions, if any, are subject to the app store's terms and the statutory right of withdrawal.
